White Wishes / Experimental documentation film / 2016
Anyang(KR), Open school Gallery
The film is about a Korean traditional ritual festival called 'Dangsanjae', which is really hard to find anymore in the modern society. This festival is dedicated to a old tree, which is believed to be the god of the village.
The festival starts hanging the wishes
on the tree because the people from the village believe that the tree will make their wishes come true. After that they start to make music and dance and have fun. The festival is not only a religious ritual but it is also about being together in harmony. The wishes, which are written from the beholders who participated in the exhibition "Gu-Jeon-Sim-Su" at 2015, and the scenes in the video makes to think about the value of being in harmony.
